What is JCM?
Junior Cycling Malaysia (JCM) is an initiative under Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) to promote cycling in Malaysia through the creation of a series of nationwide criterium races and supported rides. Our goal is to create more cycling opportunities for athletes and the public alike to participate in. We are committed in our quest to help support the search of new talent that will be channeled towards National and International Pro teams alike.
What is a criterium?
A criterium, or crit, is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit (usually between 1 to 1.5km), often run on closed off city street or university area. Race length can be determined by a number of laps or total time, in which case the number of remaining laps is calculated as the race progresses. Generally the event's duration (commonly one hour) is shorter than that of a traditional road race which can last many hours.
How does the point system work?
The first, second, and third rider at every 5th lap gets 3, 2, 1 points respectively (with double points at final end sprint)
